JOUMANA MOURAD
" During the past four years Joumana Mourad has developed
a daring technique which allows her unconscious a much greater role in
shaping the work. She pours paint directly onto canvas and printers ink
onto metal plates for the monotypes. The colours are pushed with long tools
to let them flow, bleed and pool into suggestive shapes. She then strokes
additional colours, strategically onto the surface, to breathe life into
her flowers, her faces and her fish. Each life form expresses a different
mood and motion."
