We are trying with these "questions and replies" to reply to the most often posed questions. 
 
  • What is the duration of my courses ?

    • It is a minimum of one week. Two weeks would be ideal and you will have priority for family accommodation.
  • When can I do the training courses ?

    • All year! But the dates are indicated if you want to be with a small sympathetic groups .
  • How many people are there in your course ?

    • Between 8 and 10 students.
  • What is the average student age ?

    • Our students are different ages, young and old.
  • Can one be in a bigger group ?

    • Yes if you are an Organization, (T.O etc ..)We can organize the reception of a big group as we have done with "Art Trek"(see References).
  • I have chosen a week with half pension in a family. What have I the right to ?

    • You have the right to 5 days of course, and 7 days in half pension.
  • I wish an accommodation other than that of a family . What do I have to do ?

    • You directly contact the family that we propose you, or you contact the Tourist Office of Antibes.
  • Are the courses recognized ?

    • We deliver at the end of the stay a certificate with the appreciation. This certificate completes the artistic training for Universities or other training organisations. Students of "Skidmore College" in New-York State have trained with us to complete their artistic training for their "master" certificate.

    "QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR INSCRIPTION"

  • When can I to register ?

    • The ideal is one month in advance. The sooner the better. But you can always try the last minute !.
  • How do I register ?

    • By filling legibly the form of inscription without forgetting to sign it, together with your method of payment. Not to forget to include (if you some photographs) of your work. All this must be sent by mail.
  • I have sent everything, what next ?

    • Soon after you will receive the confirmation of your courses, a map of the city, as well as the address of your family if you have chosen this formula .
  • I have reserved a course, but I can not come ?

    • If we are warned 15 days in advance, we will fully refund your deposit .
    If you warn us in the last week preceding your arrival, we will refund you half your deposit .
    If We are warned in less than 48h. before your arrival, you will not be refunded your deposit if you are lodged in our family residence.

    " RELATIVE QUESTIONS TO THE COURSES "

  • How many hours of training are there per day ?

    • Three hours and a half, or Seven hours if you have chosen an intensive course .
  • In what language are the courses given ?

    • In French and English .
  • I am a complete beginner?

    • You will start with the basics.
  • I already know the basics ?

    • We complete the former, and help you discover other techniques.
  • I am an established artist ?

    • We work with International artists. You will communicate with new artist and discover other means of expression.
  • Are the courses given inside or outside the atelier ?

    • If the weather is beautiful (which is often the case), working outside is favored.
  • How many days and hours of work are there per week ?

    • Your internship is 5 days per week, and you have the possibility to work 3h30/day or 7h/day if you have chosen an intensive formula .
  • Outside can I work over the course hours ?

    • Yes, you can use the workshops freely between 19h to 23h. Our professor will not be teaching within these hours, but he will be able to advise you on your work.
  • Why should I send photographs of my work ?

    • To save time and to know the level of your work.
  • What equipment should I bring with me ?

    • We advise you to bring your usual equipment if have it.
  • Can I buy the equipment from Antibes ?

    • If you wish it, a very close shop to the workshop will be able to provide you in paper, cloth, or various colors.
  • How many professors are there ?

    • Groups are not important. For a good teaching quality, 2 professors are sufficent, but the participation of artists will be made during your stay.

    "PRACTICAL QUESTIONS"

  • Where is Antibes ?

    • At the center of the French Riviera, between Cannes (10 Km.) and Nice (20 Km.).
  • Where is the Atelier du Safranier ?

    • In the heart of the old town in alivley and beautiful quarter .
  • Where is the train station ?

    • Ten minutes by foot from the Workshop.
  • Where is Bus station ?

    • Ten minutes by foot from the Workshop.
  • where is the Airport ?

    • In Nice, and is 20mn. by car or bus(regular service).
  • Do I need a car ?

    • It is not necessary (especially in Summer). Buses and Trains will be able to transport you to where you desire to be.

    "VARIOUS QUESTIONS"

  • For how long has the Atelier du Safranier existed ?

    • The Workshop existed since the Year 1981, it is known all over the French Riviera for its pedagogical work and quality.
  • Why the name "Atelier du Safranier" ?

    • The workshop wears the name of a small free community where it was born. "The Safranier" A Very beautiful typical quarter in the old town .
  • Will an insurance cover me during my stay ?

    • You have to insure youself personally, the Workshop is not responsible for accidents and theft occurred during your stay.
